Overview
The College of Data Science and Engineering at AUM invites applications from resilient, innovative candidates with a terminal degree in Game Development or a closely related field. AUM’s BS in Game Development program emphasizes real-time graphics, AI, networking, and collaborative game production, equipping students with skills in C++, game engines, design principles, and advanced systems.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses such as Game Networking, Game Design, Game Engine Development, Game Physics, Real-Time Graphics, AI for Games, and Capstone Projects. They must maintain a robust research profile and contribute to university service, demonstrating adaptability and creative problem-solving. The position is offered at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on experience. Salary is competitive and negotiable.
Qualifications
● Ph.D. (terminal degree) in Game Development or a closely related field (completed by start date).
● Strong research background with peer-reviewed publications in game development or related fields.
● Demonstrated teaching experience in game development at the undergraduate level.
● Proficiency with tools like Unity, Unreal Engine, C++, and related frameworks.
● Resilience and ability to think outside the box in teaching, research, and service.
Preferred Qualifications
● Industry experience in game development.
● Experience with project-based or hybrid teaching methods.
● Track record of securing research funding.
Responsibilities
● Teaching: Deliver assigned course per load semester in the BS Game Development program, engaging students with innovative pedagogies.
● Research: Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed venues, advancing fields like game AI, networking, or engine optimization.
● Service: Contribute to curriculum review, accreditation, and departmental initiatives, fostering AUM’s mission.
● Advise students on capstone projects, internships, and career development.
● Demonstrate adaptability and creative approaches in all duties.
