Overview

The Department of Data Science at AUM seeks a resilient, innovative Assistant/Associate/ Professor with a terminal degree and expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, and/or Software Engineering. AUM’s BS programs in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, and Software Engineering cover algorithms, machine learning, big data systems, secure software development, and AI applications.

The successful candidate will teach courses like AI/ML Algorithms, Big Data Analytics, Software Design and Development, Blockchain and Security, while maintaining a strong research profile and contributing to university service. Salary is competitive and negotiable.

Qualifications

● Ph.D. (terminal degree) in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field (completed by start date).

● Strong research portfolio with peer-reviewed publications in AI, Data Science, or Software Engineering.

● Proven teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

● Proficiency with tools like Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hadoop/Spark, Git, or CI/CD.

● Resilience and ability to think outside the box in teaching, research, and service.

Preferred Qualifications

● Postdoctoral or industry experience in AI, Data Science, or Software Engineering.

● Track record of securing external funding.

● Experience teaching Blockchain, Security, or agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

● Teaching: Develop and teach courses in AI (e.g., machine learning, NLP), Data Science (e.g., data mining), and/or Software Engineering (e.g., software testing).

● Research: Publish in high-impact journals/conferences and pursue funding.

● Service: Participate in departmental committees, curriculum development, and institutional initiatives.

● Advise students on projects, research, and internships.

● Demonstrate adaptability and innovative approaches.
